Armistead Cottage Bed and Breakfast

Message: I've never felt better cared for than I did during my three night stay at beautiful Armistead Cottage. Charles and Romana are gracious hosts, the breakfasts were delicious and so was the company. I'll go back!

Message: I stayed here at the Armistead cottage in November 2021. It was by complete chance that we found our way to the Armistead, because my boyfriend and I had initially reserved a stay elsewhere in Newport. However, the same day we were meant to check in to the other location we received notice that our reservation was canceled. Nonetheless, thank god it was because staying at the Armistead cottage was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. I’m still in awe of the uniqueness of the house. But what really stuck out, and what I still find myself reflecting on, is just how pleasant and amazing our host Charles was. We felt so so welcomed, and were touched by the sheer kindness Charles and his assistant had. Everything was simply astounding. All of the meals, amenities, and most of all, the people. This experience will stay with me, and I hope to visit again sometime soon. If you’re thinking about visiting Newport, the Armistead is the perfect place to stay!

Message: Charles is an absolute pleasure to be around. Him and Tania made our weekend even more perfect. From the mouthwatering breakfast to the excellent accommodations, you can't go wrong at this B&B! We are certainly coming back with friends and family!

Message: My boyfriend and I stayed at Armistead Cottage B &B for a long weekend and had a lovely stay here. The location was near perfect--a residential, quiet neighborhood within 20 minutes walking to the beach and to downtown. The rooms were adorable, very clean, and very sizeable.. Our host, Romana, was a major highlight of our trip. She had wonderful recommendations for exploring Newport's culinary and historic scenes, made us three-course breakfasts in the mornings with care and with style, and was very welcoming and acommodating. As someone mildly allergic to cats, I was a little worried that I would be uncomfortable, but there was no problem at all--cats were kept in a separate area, and as I said--rooms were exceptionally clean. Overall, our stay at Armistead had all the homey quirks of a coastal New England b & b, and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Newport!

Message: My wife and I stayed here the other weekend and couldn’t say enough good things. Romana made us feel right at home, and so welcomed. Her breakfast was incredible as well! Over all amazing experience and we can’t wait to come back and stay for another weekend!

Message: Simply the perfect place to stay in Newport RI. Fantastic hosts, sumptuous food, great location. Nothing is too much trouble, Romana and Charles go the extra mile to ensure your Newport stay is a pleasure. And on top of all that the house contains a "Carrot Museum" - an immense collection of carroty items - the largest in the world.

Message: My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time! Very convenient location that's close to main attractions in Newport. Charles was very accommodating and cooks a mean egg casserole! We will definitely be staying here again.

Message: A beautiful B&B with gorgeous rooms in a quiet neighborhood setting but close to downtown Newport and surrounding beach areas. Romana and Charles are wonderful hosts who are both very dear and entertaining. Romana puts on a 3 course breakfast every morning with something you have probably never had before but will enjoy!
